Virtual World in Medical education
« on: February 15, 2010, 06:48:14 PM »
In this article Hoffman explains how the use of computer are expanding the learning of medical students. I enjoyed this article because we can use some of the activities to teach Spanish or any other language. The simulations activities are great to learn vocabulary.http://journals.lww.com/academicmedicine/Abstract/1997/12000/Virtual_reality__teaching_tool_of_the_twenty_first.18.aspx

VW for students with medical profession! Now that is something interesting to hear about. Does that mean students can practice their operation without literally hurting anyone? I wonder how it can work out. Maybe it will be like how a pilot is trained through navigating a driving simulator!? In this sense, I think Virtual World could be very useful for those who have to be trained to excel in a high-risk profession, and thus could possibly be combined with ESP.
