Teaching English with Jokes
« on: May 01, 2014, 12:40:31 AM »
Everyone appreciates a good joke. In the case of ESL students suffering through English grammar, even not-so-good and corny jokes are appreciated. For example, when reviewing rules of punctuation the following joke could be used:

An English teacher wrote these words on the whiteboard: "woman without her man is nothing". The teacher then asked the students to punctuate the words correctly.

The men wrote: "Woman, without her man, is nothing."

The women wrote: "Woman! Without her, man is nothing."
