Harry Potter Diagon Alley Marketing
« on: May 01, 2018, 11:05:51 PM »
In the very first book, Harry’s first real exposure to the magical world is when he visits Diagon Alley for the first time and sees all of the magical shops. There are many very important shops here such as Ollivander’s and The Leaky Cauldron among many others.

For a small assignment, students could pick one of these businesses and make a brochure or pamphlet advertising it. Information would include the shop’s location, what merchandise it sells and what sets it apart from other shops selling similar things.

This is a great idea! This would also be a great opportunity to teach students specific components and strategies about persuasive writing and descriptive language. For example, persuading people to visit the shop and buy its products (persuasive writing) or describing the shop and its products (descriptive language).
