Interview the scientist, part 3
« on: February 23, 2006, 04:39:49 PM »
While students were reading the article they formulated questions about points they didn't understand and handed these in. For this postreading activity the teacher will use these questions as well as others to develop a script for a simulated television interview. The students are then given the list of questions and have 10 - 15 minutes to find the answers in the text. Then in pairs they take turns role-playing the interview, with one asking the questions and the other pretending to be Robert Minchin (or maybe one pair of students volunteers to act it out in front of the class?). The teacher will have incorporated questions that include a personal dimension (How did you get interested in this field?) and higher level critical questions (Why is this important? What are your concerns regarding future research?)
