An activity that can help assess whether or not the students understood the big picture purpose of the article, the teacher can prepare different sentances that students will have to put in order.  By offering this activity to the students, Ss will have to focus on the general flow of information rather than focus on the specific and technical details of a text.

For the low level students, instead of putting all the sentences together at a time,  inserting only one or two seperated sentences into the whole paragraph could be an easy one. It means first the students are given the whole paragraph with one or two sentences left aside. And the students have to find the right places for these left sentences. This is also possible only when the students understand the whole flow of the story.
