pre-reading activity for nanotechnology
« on: May 04, 2010, 06:52:00 AM »
This is an interactive website I used before for a pre-reading activity about nanotechnology.

http://nanozone.org/

English readings related to nanotechnology are usually not reader-friendly to students who lack knowledge background. As a result, I use this weblink to give students a basic understanding of nanotechnology.
This website provides a lots of interactive games, videos, flash animations to introduce what nanotechnology is and why nanotechnology studies become important nowadays.

The teacher can give students 15 minutes to explore the weblink before he/she introduces the reading of nanotechnology, and can design some questions related to the context of this website for wrap-up. The attached file is the sample worksheet I design for this website.
