Simple English Wikipedia

I've found Simple English Wikipedia to be an awesome resource for teaching reading and encourage students (particularly the nerdy ones like me) to read more. I've adapted many articles to explain more complex topics to my students, particularly low intermediate ones.

This seems like a fun thing to try--do you assign them topics and then talk about in class?

When I tutored a few adult students in second language reading, I used it to help them explain topics in the field.

Cool, thanks! I am thinking about trying this out with some of the students I tutor--and it seems that I can also use it when my students submit research papers which contain words I do not know,
Maybe I could even require them to include these links in their writing, or at least look at them and explain them in their own words.
Thanks for the idea, Kat!
