Foods in Harry Potter vs Foods in Students Culture

Usually, the focus of Harry Potter is on the magical aspect of its world. Therefore, most assignments and project ideas relating to Harry Potter also focus on the magical aspect. However, I thought of something students could talk about that has a much more simple subject. Food.
ESL students come from a lot of different cultural backgrounds and therefore are used to eating foods that may be very different from what the characters in Harry Potter eat.
So for a small assignment, it could be fun to ask the students to write a comparison and contrast of food in Harry Potter and food in their own culture.
For example, is there anything similar to a food in their culture? What foods would they be excited to try? What foods would they not want to try?
