Plagiarism
« on: May 08, 2018, 01:30:15 AM »
As ESL teachers we must train our students to avoid plagiarism. At the beginning of each semester, I introduce my students to plagiarism and make them aware of the fact that plagiarism is an offense. I also share with them a story I have come across (a particular story illustrating the repercussions of plagiarism.) Please see below for the story in brief.

The Story:
I have heard of an international student who came to the USA to do their studies and was sent back to their country in disgrace because they committed plagiarism. At the beginning of every semester, I narrate this story in greater detail to my students to explain them the gravity of plagiarism. I believe that such stories, among other things, would enable teachers to train their students to avoid plagiarism.
