Cursing and censorship
« on: May 13, 2021, 05:05:15 PM »
This past semester I have been doing independant research on language learning, cursing, and censorship. While my focus was on children learning their native langauges curse words I stumbled upon this article that deals with L2 learning and curse words.

Cursing is a very debated topic in the world and many people hold strong opinions on this topic. In my opinion we must still allow for students (older/adult students) to be able to interact with these words and be able to understand their many meanings and contexts they are used in. This article is a very interesting read and might be of use in creating a lesson or something similar in regards to the taboo words of a language.
